Kranick's pitch repertoire included a 95.6 mph four-seamer and an 89.9 mph slider, along with a curveball and sweeper. However, his season was cut short by flexor tendon surgery in July, and the Mets non-tendered him at season's end.
The Nationals saw an opportunity in Kranick's situation, signing him to a deal worth $800K for 2026, with a club option for 2027. This option will be either $850K or $50K north of the new league minimum salary, whichever is greater. Even if the option is declined, Kranick can be controlled via arbitration through 2029.
