Buckle up, racers, because Gran Turismo 7's Weekly Challenges are about to shift into high gear! As January draws to a close, the final set of challenges for the month is here, and it's packed with exciting races and lucrative rewards. But here's where it gets interesting: these challenges feature content from the brand-new 1.67 update, giving players a chance to test their skills on fresh tracks and with new vehicles. And this is the part most people miss: the Weekly Challenges, introduced back in November 2023, are a hidden gem for players who've completed the GT Cafe mode, offering a rotating selection of races, time trials, and unique missions to keep the adrenaline pumping.
Each week brings five distinct challenges, four of which are classic World Circuit races. The fifth, however, is a Special Event – a bespoke race, time trial, or mission designed specifically for that week. Players have seven days to conquer these challenges, earning not only in-game credits but also bonus rewards that scale with their progress. It's a brilliant way to revisit missed races, explore new content, and rack up some serious in-game currency.
Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges – January Week 5 Events
1. Sunday Cup – Willow Springs
Kick things off with a quick sprint at Willow Springs International Raceway: Streets of Willow Springs Reverse. This two-lap race is short and sweet, requiring only a Road car to compete. With a 25,000cr prize for the winner, it's a great warm-up for the challenges ahead.
2. European Clubman Cup 600 – Suzuka Circuit
Next up is a three-lap battle at Suzuka Circuit, where you'll need a European Road car to take on some tough AI opponents. The suggested 600 Performance Points (PP) value aims to level the playing field, but don't be surprised if some competitors bend the rules. Victory here nets you 60,000cr.
3. Special Event – Deep Forest
This week's Special Event is a seven-lap race at Deep Forest, exclusively featuring the new Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. While the AI field sticks to standard specs, a well-timed 'Overtake' button can give you the edge. Win this one, and you'll pocket 90,000cr.
4. Hypercar Parade – Circuit de Sainte-Croix
Returning to Circuit de Sainte-Croix for the second week, this event showcases the long C layout. The only rule? Use a Road car. Whether it's a VGT or the mighty 1,525hp Xiaomi, choose wisely to navigate the course's long straight and claim your 90,000cr reward.
5. World Touring Car 800 – Mount Panorama
The final challenge is the WTC800 at Mount Panorama, where tire management is key. With a hard 800PP limit and Racing tires, you'll face off against Gr.3 AI cars. A no-stop strategy is possible, and the 200,000cr prize makes it well worth the effort.
But here's the controversial part: while the Weekly Challenges offer fantastic rewards, they're only accessible to players who've completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie. Is this an exclusive club, or a fair incentive for dedicated players? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
In addition to event prizes, Weekly Challenges provide bonus rewards that grow in value as you complete more races. This week, it's all about credit tickets: 100,000cr for one event, 200,000cr for three, and a whopping 500,000cr for finishing all five. These tickets are sent to your Garage's Gifts section, so don't forget to redeem them before they expire.
