The celebration kicked off with an intimate luncheon at von Furstenberg's Venice residence, a nod to the city's rich history and the brand's new collection. The fall 2026 collection, titled "La Serenissima," is a tribute to Venice, often referred to as "La Serenissima" or the most serene.
Chief Design Officer Nathan Jenden shared his inspiration: "Venice, a city of contrasts, is personified as a woman, mirroring our female leader. We wanted to capture its essence without being overly literal." He added, "In these turbulent times, serenity and a touch of madness are essential."
Jenden's designs exude the enigmatic charm of Venice, blending seduction and serenity, mystery and romance. This is evident in the collection's standout pieces, such as a handkerchief-hem chiffon skirt featuring tapestry prints, paired with a versatile wool knit coat. The theme of duality persists with reversible faux fur toppers and a captivating two-piece dress, comprising a slipdress and a hand-beaded, printed tulle overlay.
But here's where the collection gets even more intriguing... Jenden's commitment to comfort and versatility from spring carries over to fall. The lineup includes effortless, mix-and-match pieces, such as a hand-painted buffalo plaid skirt in stretch sequins paired with an argyle check sweater. And this is the part most fashion enthusiasts will love: iconic wrap dresses and shirtdresses reimagined in stretch suede, boiled merino wool, and corduroy jersey.
Jenden's genius lies in his ability to blend unexpected color combinations and revamped prints, like the resurrected snake print from the archives. He seamlessly integrates structured outerwear, including the return of leather in a popular bomber style, with softer, feminine layers, ensuring the collection resonates with modern tastes.
